This is a global problem not a US problem.  Once again our burocrats are looking for a band aid fix to a very large problem. The trade winds seem to blow from Asia to the US. China has overtaken the US as the world's biggest CO2 emitter. A Dutch study says China is coughing up 9% more fossil fuel into the air than last year, compared with a 1.4% increase from the superpower across the Pacific. And the trend is up: China's industry is growing so fast, it's building two new power stations a week to meet energy demands.

We need a means of creating more value for CO2 by making it a friend rather than a foe. Harnessing and utilizing it could be thrown to the business world.

Something agro?

Great info Jim. It proves Karl's point that the rest of the world are building energy plants (China heavy into coal) and emitting CO2. Meanwhile we will tax our overburdened citizens and not increase energy supply that will make a difference such as offshore drilling, building nuclear plants and coal burning plants. Decrease the costs of energy first for the consumer and secure America's energy future. Then innovators can make a business out of lowering emissions (to Roosters point).

Great points about the effects continuing on while we're paying through the nose... AND, now we're also going to try and forcefeed ourselves a bloated climate bill?

The hammer and sickle have almost closed themselves shut over the USA. Get to know your neighbors and be prepared to take care of one another. Times have just begun to get interesting. I believe America will come out the other side but I doubt the federation known as uncle sam will survive. Sorry for the gloom and doom but it is coming up on July 4th!

Don't you mean carbon monoxide which is co ,that's what's bad for the atomosphere: carbon dioxide which is co2 is what plant's, and other thing's take in, and in return give off oxygen.
