Fellow sane people, I agree with the following article 100%, in that, as the author states, the data presented and used by the Warmers on three continents have been distorted and doctored.
Worse, I have to agree with him that no matter that the evidence is out that the planet is not heating up, nothing will stop governments that want more power over the private sector, private businesses that will benefit from Cap & Tax types of legislation, government bureaucracies that will receive more research funds and will get bigger and more powerful, from trying to have legislation enacted to "fight global warming," or "climate change" as they call it today.

Climate Data Fraud Exposed in the US

John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, in an hour-long television documentary titled "Global Warming: The Other Side," presents evidence that our National Climatic Data Center has been manipulating weather data just as the now disgraced and under investigation British University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit. The NCDC is a division of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Its manipulated climate data is used by the Goddard Institute of Space Studies, which is a division of the National Aeronautical and Space Administration.
A computer programmer, E. Michael Smith, and a Certified Consulting Meteorologist named Joseph D’Aleo join the program to inform viewers of their breakthrough investigation into how the NASA Goddard Science and Space Institute at Columbia University in New York and the NOAA National Climate Data Center in Ashville, North Carolina manipulated data to make them show the earth is warming.)
The Coleman documentary presents research by computer expert E. Michael Smith and Certified Consulting Meteorologist Joseph D'Aleo. During the 1960s and into the 1980s, the number of stations used for calculating global surface temperatures was about 6,000. By 1990, the number of stations dropped rapidly to about 1,500. Most of the stations lost were in the colder regions of the Earth. Not adjusting for their lost made temperatures appear to be higher than was in fact the case.
According to Science & Environmental Policy Project, Russia reported that CRU was ignoring data from colder regions of Russia, even though these stations were still reporting data. That means data loss was not simply the result of station closings but deliberate decisions by CRU to ignore them in order to hype their global warming claims.
D'Aleo and Smith report that our own NCDC engaged in similar deceptive activity where they have dropped stations, particularly in colder climates, higher elevations, or ones that were closer to the polar regions. Temperatures are now simply projected for these colder stations from other stations, usually in warmer climates. No one is there to gauge the temperatures on site.
Mounting evidence of scientific fraud might make little difference in terms of the response to manmade global warming hysteria. Why? Vested economic and political interests have emerged where trillions of dollars and social control are at stake.
Therefore, many people who recognize the scientific fraud underlying global warming claims are likely to defend it anyway. Automobile companies have invested billions in research and investment in producing "green cars."
General Electric and Phillips have spent millions lobbying Congress to outlaw incandescent bulbs so that they can force us to buy costly compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL). Farmers and ethanol manufacturers have gotten Congress to enact laws mandating greater use of their product, not to mention massive subsidies.
Thousands of major corporations around the world have taken steps to reduce carbon emissions including giants like IBM, Nike, Coca-Cola, and BP the oil giant. Companies like Google, Yahoo, and Dell have vowed to become "carbon neutral."
Then there's Chicago Climate Futures Exchange that plans to trade in billions of dollars of greenhouse gas emission allowances (when Cap & Tax is passed AD).
Corporate America and labor unions, as well as their international counterparts have a huge multi-trillion dollar financial stake in the perpetuation of the global warming fraud. Federal, state, and local agencies have spent billions of dollars and created millions of jobs to deal with one aspect or another of global warming.
It's deeper than just money. Schoolteachers have created polar-bear-dying lectures to frighten and indoctrinate our children when in fact there are more polar bears now than in 1950. They've taught children about melting glaciers. Just recently, the International Panel on Climate Change was forced to admit that their Himalayan glacier-melting fraud was done to "impact policy makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action."
What would all the beneficiaries of the global warming hype do if it becomes widely known and accepted that mankind's activities have very little to do with the Earth's temperature? I don't know but a lot of people would feel and look like idiots.
But I bet that even if the permafrost returned as far south as New Jersey, as it once did, the warmers and their congressional stooges would still call for measures to fight global warming.

There are plenty of VALID reasons to cut down on emmissions and clean things up. There is no need for fraud. Geeze. My son has athsma. What if emmissions were cut? I would not need to move him to Arizona. Cancer would go down. Athsma and many other ailments diminished. Not to mention much more pleasant place to live. Why do they have to lie to get things done? Now they've gone and crushed any credibility they had. Well I'm glad to see the bastards go down. They are not idiots....they are highly intelligent which makes them very dangerous. Maybe now some more sensible leaders will emerge. Sure hope so...but I'm not holding my breath.

Our understanding of the physical world is constantly expanding - and we are far from having a firm grasp on things. If you condense our atmosphere to a liquid, it is 1/500th the size of our oceans, and we are demonstrably polluting our oceans very seriously. Whatever the impact of our actions and numbers on our planet, if we keep going in the direction we are going, there is a very good chance we will render the oceans lifeless (dead zones anyone?) and air insufficient to support mammalian life.
Do we really need to argue about current theories as to the routes that might take us there?

The reason Venus is so hot is that it's atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide which traps heat via the greenhouse effect. Atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere have been rising for the last 150 years. Anyone with even a thread of logical ability can make the connection. But actually it's the ocean acidification that is more worrying. As the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere rises the increased partial pressure increases the level of carbon dioxide saturated in the ocean. These levels too have been measured and are increasing to the point where the shells of marine life are starting to dissolve.

No fair, AD, posting an article and not sticking around to defend it. Although I certainly sympathize, having posted a couple of articles recently and then finding out life would not permit me time online for several days. So we'll give you a few days' grace, minimum.

Why don't you fly your ignorant ass up to the arctic this summer and take a look around, talk to a few of the natives? Unless you suspect that they are plants by the Illuminati. No doubt global warming will form the basis of further scams by our Wall Street friends.
No doubt the prison walls are closing in. I wish to hell you were right, but as I have mentioned before, I know or have had personal contact with a few of the supposed hoaxers including arch demon Gore, Mark Serreze and James Hanson. The latter two have forgotten more science than you and I will ever know and have not gained anything from this issue. Hanson in fact has had his life made more difficult by sticking up for what he believes. Of course global warming will be used as an excuse to further dismantle our freedoms. Hanson thinks the current cap and trade bill is pure bullshit, not his words but the gist of an email he sent my partner, another scam to rip off taxpayer dollars. That does not mean Global warming is a false theory. By the way Global Warming could also cause many of us to freeze our asses off due to changes in the Gulf Stream etc. Moreover, I suspect peak oil and economic meltdown may do more to solve the problem than any number "progressive" regulations.Most of which I react to much as you do. Sorry for the heated language. I spend time in the country deep in the woods. I see the changes, migration patterns.,ranges of species. Mother Nature doesn't care about your economic and political theories.

Geology 101:
1) the Earth goes through periods of glaciation separated by interglacials;
2) interglacials last (on average) for approximately 40,000 years;
3) during the height of the last interglacial the Earth had NO polar ice caps;
4) the interglacial we're living in right now began approximately 10,000 years ago;
5) best science (so far) indicates that these climate changes are caused by both variations in solar output [the sunspot cycle has already changed in duration (9 to 11 years) once in recorded history] and by variations in the Earth's orbit (NOT by the Industrial Revolution this time around or by dinosaur farts in the past!);
6) though humans can certainly pollute large areas of the planet, we cannot yet create major climate change; and
7) humans have reached the top of the food chain by adapting to environmental changes and shall continue to do so (meaning you need to move your California beachside condo to Arizona!).
